582,000 Rohingya to Bangladesh from Myanmar Since August 25, Says UN |

[An Nahar] Some 582,000 Rohingya refugees have fled their homes in Myanmar and arrived in Bangladesh since late August, the United Nations said Tuesday, warning that thousands more were stranded at the border. The UN refugee agency said 582,000 members of the Rohingya community had crossed into Bangladesh since August 25, marking a jump of 45,000 from the 537,000 figure given by the UN at the weekend. |

#2 According to Factbook, before this repatriation Bangladesh had 2,758 people per square mile, 13 times the density of Burma, all packed into a country that is just 22% of the size of Burma - slightly smaller than Iowa. That's like half of the US population crammed into something like Iowa. |
