Syrian Army breaks through ISIS lines in Deir Ezzor, enters Ummal District

[ALMASDARNEWS] Syrian Arab Army (SAA) entered the Ummal District of Deir Ezzor after advancing from the nearby Industrial Zone, a military source told al-Masdar News.

Once Tiger Forces entered the Ummal District, they quickly seized the municipal post office and imposed fire control over the al-Safa Mosque.

According to the military source, the Syrian Army is pushing towards the municipal stadium in a bid to encircle the strategic Old Airport District, which is considered one of the Islamic State’s last strongholds in Deir Ezzor.

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Syrian Democratic Forces militia (SDF) launched, on Thursday, an extensive assault on the Islamic State strongholds, north of Deir Ezzor, sources told Qasioun News.

The sources informed that the Syrian Democratic Forces attacked and recaptured the Islamic State-held village of Rabidah, west of the Khabour River, in addition to some parts of Jdaidat Akidat Village, north of the Euphrates River, located in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Furthermore, the Syrian army forces, backed by the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, retook the T2 base and Kam Oil Field, based on an agreement with the Islamic State militia, the sources added.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic State militia has recently lost its biggest and largest strongholds in Syria, and withdrew to the city of Albukamal and its outskirts, east of Deir Ezzor.

Led by the elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Army advanced from the recently liberated Industrial District and its corresponding dock, entering Saqr Island from its western flank.

Once the Tigers crossed the Euphrates and entered Saqr Island, the remaining Islamic State turbans attempted to hold their posts near Central Park, but were ultimately forced to withdraw.

With Saqr Island’s liberation today, the Syrian Arab Army has now successfully secured the Industrial District and taken control of one of the Islamic State’s largest supply hubs.

Syrian Army captures Hawija Sukkar

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Informed sources informed, on Thursday, that the Syrian army forces had taken the village of Hawija Sukkar, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, Qasioun News reported.

The sources revealed that Syrian army forces recaptured Hawija Sukkar Village, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after battles with the Islamic State group

The army forces chased the Islamic State fighters in the area, the sources explained. Several members of the Islamic State group were either killed or wounded during the clashes.

The Syrian army and its allied militias inflicted heavy human and material losses on the Islamic State group in the vicinity of Jafra Village, east of Deir Ezzor.

Earlier today, Syrian regime has announced completely recapturing the city of Ma’dan, on the southern bank of the Euphrates River, located between the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa.
