| [AlAhram] Russia's defence ministry on Thursday said its mission to oust Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... jihadists from Syria has been "accomplished" and the country is "completely liberated" from the group. "The Russian armed forces' goal to defeat gangs of ISIS terrorist organization in Syria has been accomplished," senior military officer Sergei Rudskoi told a briefing, using an alternative acronym for the group. |

| #4 This is a big day...anticlimactic...but, a big day nonetheless. This Caliphate version of AQ, ISIL, ISIS...whatever...is finished. And thus, bin Laden's and Zarqawi's dreams and dreamers corpses rot in the crumbled towns and dusty desert of Syria, Iraq and the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Obama's massive blunder (giving Maliki the green light for the Shia to suppress the Sunnis...who turned en masse to ISIS) that allowed this cancer to metastasize will be ignored. Thousands of innocents murdered, Christian persecution and genocide in Iraq ignored. Words in a mere post can not do this disaster justice. In a way I guess Obama achieved what appears to have been his goal... a Shia crescent from the Persian Gulf.. Iran, through Iraq and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. I am uneasy. |
