The provincial government media office in a statement said the senior Taliban leader Farhad who was also famous as Badar was killed in Mehtarlam city late on Monday night.

The statement further added that Badar was killed during a clash that took place in Armal and Safi village.

According to the Laghman provincial government, Badar was a key Taliban leader who was involved in liquidations, roadside kaboomings, killing of innocent civilians and various other types of terrorist related activities.
