Yemeni video shows shooting down of Saudi F-15 jet
2018-01-10
Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement has released footage of the moment its forces shot down an F-15 fighter jet belonging to the Saudi-led coalition.

The video released by the Houthi-run al-Masirah television network early on Tuesday shows the exact moment when the aircraft is hit by a surface-to-air missile while flying over the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, the previous day.
Looks like he was flying straight, turned on the afterburners, dropped two flares and then boom. No evasive maneuvers?

#5  There is reason to believe that R-27s have been engineered into SAMs much as SA-2s were adapted to be ballistic missiles.

#3  Best plane in the world is only as good as the pilot and mechanics.

#2  ...Notice though that as spectacular as the video is, there is no indication that the -15S actually went down - I'm thinking what we saw here is a MANPADS (think Stinger, or other man-portable SAM) shot that didn't QUITE reach it's intended target. I'm guessing the Eagle driver needed new underwear when he got back, but he's otherwise okay.

On the other hand, I can guarantee that he's a member of a clan closely allied to House of Saud
