President Trump Reportedly Enraged At Staff Over Porter Mess
2018-02-09
BLUF:
[HOT AIR] On Wednesday night, Donald Trump vented to advisers that Kelly had not fully briefed him on Porter’s issues with women until recently, two sources told me. Trump was also not aware of the severity of the alleged abuse until yesterday, when Ivanka walked into the Oval Office and showed her father a photo published in the Daily Mail of Porter’s ex-wife with a black eye. "He was f***ing pissed," said one Republican briefed on the conversation. According to a source, Ivanka and Jared Kushner have been discussing possible chief-of-staff replacements. The problem is there’s not an obvious candidate waiting in the wings...

There is a sense that the Porter situation may finally push Trump to move against Kelly, according to several Republicans close to the White House. Last night, a source said, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski called Trump and urged him to fire Kelly.

#12  I have no thoughts about the alleged abuse, lacking as I do knowledge of the people involved. But I agree with Cesare in being suspicious of anonymous leaks about President Trump’s state of mind, or indeed anything he might have said in private.

#11  Kelly knew before abuse reports that Porter would be denied security clearance

#10  Seems like if this information was covered up, it would be a win-win for the FBI. They could either blackmail Porter with it if they promised to not find out, or it would embarrass the Trump administration with it if came t light by itself.

#9  I am with Besoeker, background checks, especially K-clearance, should have caught this.

I want to know more.

#8  Amazing that all these 'sources' know, I mean they REALLY know just what POTUS thinks every minute of the day and why. I have no ax to grind for Porter, but I have also seen more than my share of black eyes due to a mild addiction to boxing and martial arts. I never saw one minus swelling with bruising confined to so small and well defined an area.

Impossible he clocked her a good one? Not at all and he may well be an unpleasant romantic partner. That said, it is hard to put credence in 'ex' statements based on the divorce behavior I have seen, sometimes long after the split.

Let's see if the Dems have a fit over this report of him getting upset.

#2   a photo published in the Daily Mail

Where America goes to get the news (cause the Legacy Infotainment Enterprises are no longer concerned with real reporting).

#1  Don't blame General Kelly, blame Porter, the White House Special Security Officer (SSO) and background investigators for not bringing this to the attention of the leadership. Based on his previous background and potential deception (non-reporting/memory loss) final clearance access may have NEVER been granted to Porter.

Porter is the deceptive shi*bird in all of this. He should have gone to the leadership at hiring and said:

"Hey fellas, I've got a buttload of spousal baggage I need to inform you of before I punch in today."

I can't imagine anyone in the administration saying "oh well, what the hell, no big deal."

Background investigations are done for a reason. This is one of the reasons. Somewhat delayed and certainly embarrassing, but the system worked. Good luck with your new job at Costco Mr. Porter.
