| Rebel commander and 2 bodyguards blown up by bomb attack in southwest Syria |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] A rebel commander and two of his bodyguards have been killed by an liquidation kaboom in southwest Syria. The party responsible for the attack is unknown. On Sunday, a vehicle with five Syrian snuffies (one of them a commander) aboard was struck by a roadside kaboom whilst traveling along the main road between the towns of Mashara and Naba Alsakher in southeast Quneitra province. The attack killed the rebel commander, identified as Abu Hamza al-Naba, and two fighters (who were his bodyguards) instantly. The other two ranks also present in the car who were not killed nonetheless sustained injuries. All five snuffies were members of the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... affiliate group Asoud al-Rahman. They were the target of a well-planned liquidation plot (not at all an uncommon thing in rebel-held southwest Syria) by an unknown party. Suspicious exist that Syrian pro-government spies may have been the perpetrators of the attack. |
