| #1 Now, now, Danni: Ben Gurion wasn't that bad. He (IMO) screwed up not cleaning the Arabs out from Israel in 1948 - nobody would notice at the time, and we would be saved endless problems. Especially if we followed the precedent in 1967. And the absorption of Sephardic Jews could have done better - on the other hand, know any other country who absorbed twice it's original population in emigrants in a decade? As regards Altalena, however, no country can afford independent military/political organizations - Israel wouldn't exist today if Altalena weren't sank. |
