Two unidentified individuals died and three others were wounded in a shooting in Kazan in Tartarstan, Russia, according to a Russian language news account.According to the report supplied by the pro Russian news outlet Russkaya Vesna, the shooter, a 37 year old man began firing weapons at a residential building Tuesday evening.
A local government fire team killed the shooter. Another deceased victim, an unidentified OMON officer, was wounded in the government's response, and later died while receiving medical attention.

The shooting began after the shooter was released from prison after serving 10 days for hooliganism. The shooter subsequently found his wife was with another man, the shooter's brother.

A Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs report said that the weapon used in the attack was a hunting rifle. The unidentified shooter was drunk at the time of the attack.
