[Dhaka Tribune] Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has handed over the brother of Foyzur Rahman Faizul, who attacked noted author Prof Zafar Iqbal at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on March 3, to Jalalabad police station in Sylhet city.Enamul Hasan was sent to Sylhet on Friday morning, said CTTC unit’s Deputy Commissioner Mohibul Islam Khan.
Jalalabad police OC Shafiqul Islam also said that they were expecting Enamul in their custody soon.
Enamul, who had fled their family home after Faizul carried out the attack, was arrested by CTTC unit officials in Gazipur on Thursday evening.
Police also seized a tablet, a mobile phone and a memory card from him at the time. These were previously used by Faizul, officials claimed.
After the news of the attack spread and Faizul was identified, all members of his family had run away from their house. However, his father Atiqur Rahman and mother Minara Begum surrendered at Jalalabad police station the next day.
