[Cleveland.com] A controversial Kent State University professor known for his anti-Israel views pleaded guilty Thursday to lying to the FBI. Julio Pino,
Should Chief U.S. District Judge Patricia Gaughan accept the recommended guidelines, she can sentence Pino to prison, house arrest or probation, or a combination of the three. Gaughan will sentence Pino on Aug. 23. She released him on $25,000 unsecured bond and ordered him to surrender his passport. Pino has worked at Kent State since 1992 and specializes in Latin History and the Third World. The tenured professor has a history of making controversial statements in line with his Muslim faith and his anti-Israel views. | |
