This Week in Guns, May 12th, 2018

It is becoming clearer by the day that despite all the national calls for confiscating guns and imposing new gun laws, the antigun people expect to make gains only in some state and local elections, not nationally. And with those gains we can expect to have more draconian gun laws imposed, all without consent of the governed.

We keep hearing about all the bad news, and a little good news with regard to civil rights, but what we are seeing now is this in New Jersey (quote is from a private pro gun group):

Went to a “debate” on the second amendment with the Brady Bunch last night. They intend confiscation with Governor Murphy in their pocket. 2a people were shut down and subject to lecture. Mid meeting we all got up quietly and left as were are no longer being heard. That was necessary but it’s not a good sign when no one is talking.

Where this is going is clear to me. Antigun people want challenges to their laws in court, because they must figure the courts will side with them in local gun control. The courts have passed down some awful decisions with regard to gun rights and I suspect they will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

A US court is the only government entity that can be convinced that a Constitutional amendment is unconstitutional.

Loads.

Rantburg's summary for arms and ammunition:

#2  1) Why is 38 Special ammo so expensive?

Actually, since January, 2017, .38 Special ammunition has dropped in price by $0.02 per round.

#1  Two questions:

1) Why is 38 Special ammo so expensive?
2) Are Rock Island 45s any good?
