Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. forces scored a direct hit on their positions along the coast.

According to the official media wing of the Houthi forces, their rocket battalion fired a Qaher-2M ballistic missile at a gathering of Gulf-backed troops in the southern part of the Hodeideh Governorate, resulting in heavy losses in the latter’s ranks.

This latest missile strike comes just 72 hours after the Houthi forces launched a massive counter-assault to recapture the ground they lost to the Gulf-backed fighters in southern Hodeideh.

The Houthi operation resulted in the recapture of the entire al-Jah area and the death of more than 50 Gulf-backed fighters.

#2  Truly, Clurong Peacock9529. But nobody is unbiased in that part of the world -- it's just a matter of recognizing which bias a particular source has, and how fanciful its reports. Too far from reality, and we don't use them. That's one reason we stopped posting articles from Hurriyet after the so-called coup attempt in Turkey. It no longer dared be an independent voice.

#1  Al-Masdar says on their about page that they are an independent media service free from any political or corporate funding, sponsorship or association, but western media refers to them as “Pro-Regime [Syrian].” Overall, we rate Al-Masdar Left-Center biased in reporting and Mixed factually due to poor sourcing. Given recent Al Masdar reporting, its a wonder that any "Gulf-backed troops" are still alive.
