The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the US forces carried out
using unmanned aerial vehicles in Watapur district, leaving at least five Lions of Islam dead.The source further added that the airstrike was carried out in the vicinity of Qaro area of the district.
The Lions of Islam killed during the airstrike have been identified as Qeyamuddin also famous as Kashaf, Abdullah also famous as Nazif, Abu Zar, Zubai and Muzamil.
In the meantime, the provincial governor’s front man, Abdul Ghani Musami, said at least four Lions of Islam were killed in a separate dronezap in Suki district.
He said a Pak national was among those killed during the airstrike conducted in Watapur district of Kunar province.
According to Musamim, the local residents have not suffered any casualty during the airstrikes conducted in Suki and Watapur districts.
The anti-government armed bully boy groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
