Ex-CIA Director: NATO leaders should push back against Trump's 'reckless behavior'
2018-07-12
[The Hill] Former CIA Director John Brennan on Wednesday blasted President Trump after he hammered allies about their contributions to NATO at the group's annual summit.
Leave it to the onerous John Brennan to muddle 'reckless behavior' with simple truth telling.
"It is in the interest of America’s security if NATO leaders push back against the reckless behavior of Donald Trump, who is dangerously naive & grossly ignorant of how the world works," Brennan said on Twitter.

"History inevitably will regard Trump as one of the most disastrous figures of the 21st century," the former CIA official continued.

He also shared a blistering statement from former Secretary of State John Kerry condemning the president’s remarks to NATO members at the summit in Brussels, calling them "strange" and "counterproductive."
I'm satisfied writing this fellow's eulogy will present great difficulty for someone, but I simply can't wait to read it.

#15  Is it just me or does Jolly Johnny Brennan remind anyone else of some really, really evil Bond villain.

#14  Jack has been given numerous opportunities and encouragements to repair. Unlike jvalentour, Raj, and scores of others, after literally hundreds of posts Jack continues to provide nothing for the good of the order.

#13  Can you leave those Jack C comments up just a little longer? Sometimes they are quite humorous.

Agreed, or sink trap them.

#12  This is the guy who voted for a communist in 1976, right?

My guess is he voted for a communist in 2008, 2012 and 2016 as well.

#10  Just like MI5/6 in the UK the CIA/NSA etc are there to protect the establishment from us, not us from threats.

A proof of that theory might be the absence of formal indictments and continued governmental Kabuki dancing. With the obvious exception of the evil Manafort and long-time CIA provocateur General Mike Flynn.

#9  There is simply no way you stop this abuse of authority and prevent it from recurring without making some very memorable examples.

#7  It isn't "reckless behavior". More like tough love.

Germany's armed forces are in such a bad state, several troops of grumpy cub scouts could invade successfully. Most NATO members don't cough up shit and Trump is saying this isn't sustainable, which it isn't.

If they don't shape up, they can face the (mostly weak) Russian bear without us.

#6  How long before he calls on ISIS to carry a mass casualty attack on USA?

Similar attacks may have been permitted and already taken place.

#4  "It is in the interest of America’s security"

America will be just fine. It's in the interests of the freeloading, ungrateful Europeans and globalist scum like Brennan.

#3  If you wish to really flip over a rock, I recommend a reading of this puff piece and an examination of connections, Benghazi, no-bid security contracts at Foggy Bottom, and timelines of subsequent Aegis and Congressional resignations. If Christopher Steele lights begin flashing, you may be connecting the proper dots.
