According to a military communique, the Syrian special forces ambushed a group of Islamic State gunnies that were attempting to sneak into the al-Abtar Mountain region, which is approximately 30km west of Palmyra. The communique said that the Syrian special forces managed to kill at least two of the Islamic State terrorists, while also capturing seven others. The Islamic State gunnies were traveling on cycle of violences from the Tanf zone in southern Syria through the Batra Mountain in order to establish a new hideout, the communique added. |
