| No Hearing; Just Vote on Kavanaugh Nomination |

| [National Review] This is about preventing a conservative justice from being added to the Supreme Court, nothing more. Senate Democrats’ blatant abuse of the hearing process, their "delay, delay, delay" strategy, continues to pay dividends. Putting a stop to it would be long overdue. Thursday was the day Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s manifestly meritorious nomination to the Supreme Court should have been voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and sent to the full Senate. Instead the nomination languishes because of an eleventh-hour stunt pulled by committee Democrats ‐ led by ranking member Senator Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.). Notwithstanding that Feinstein was well aware almost three months ago of a flimsily supported allegation against Kavanaugh ‐ to wit, that 36 years ago, as a 17-year-old high school student, he groped and tried to force himself on a 15-year-old girl at an underage beer party ‐ the senator sat on the information rather than submitting it to the hearing process. Although she met face-to-face with Kavanaugh and later questioned him when he was under oath at the hearing, Feinstein did not utter a word about the ancient, unverifiable claim to Kavanaugh. Instead, the senator referred the allegation to the FBI, without identifying the self-proclaimed witness, despite knowing that: |

| #13 In Texas, it's common to see fridge magnets and bumper stickers saying "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could". America is like that. Yeppers. And we have a sense of humour about it... or humor, as the case may be. And regionalisms are great fun —I used to collect them. |

| #7 Don't say "whilst." I personally find it quaint and a reminder that not all Americans were born here. Or even live here, necessarily. In Texas, it's common to see fridge magnets and bumper stickers saying "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could". America is like that. |

| #2 I still don't think the sorry SOB will ever testify. More money to be made from delaying the process and just letting the facts (or lack thereof) simply hang out there for months or years whilst covering yourself with the cloak of victimization and the sanctimonious #MeToo meme. There are notable exceptions, but it has been my experience that where politics is involved, most of these creatures are nothing but trouble. |

| #1 Grassley is actually handling this pretty well. We have to give this woman a chance to tell her lies. We'll never hear the end of it in any event, but at least this way she had her 15 minutes. |
