Killed militant identified as top LeT comdr

(LeT) while massive operation was launched today in the area after inputs about presence of three krazed killers.

Police said that one of the two Death Eaters killed in an encounter in Sopore area of North Kashmire has been identified as Abu Maaz of Pakistain who was operating as the top commander of LeT in North Kashmire.

They said that he was active in the area since 2015 and was involved in major krazed killer attacks and killings in Sopore and Handwara areas.

"He was involved in several attacks on the Security Forces and killings of civilians in the area. Several cases were registered against him in different cop shoppes across valley for his terror activities.

In the meantime, security forces today launched an operation in Sopore area of North Kashmire today after inputs about presence of a group of Death Eaters in the area.

Source said that a joint team of Army’s 52 RR, Special Operation Group of Police and CRPF sealed Amargarh area this afternoon. House to house searches were conducted in the area. The operation was still going on and security forces have inputs that the Death Eaters are still inside the cordoned area. The cordon has been tightened to ensure that the Death Eaters may not flee from the area during the night.
