Two Arrested After Gun Fired In Baltimore Elementary School |

[BALTIMORE.CBSLOCAL] A Baltimore City Public Schools official says two people have been tossed in the slammerDrop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! after a gun was fired in a Baltimore elementary school Wednesday morning. Two students reportedly brought guns to Maree Garnett Farring Elementary School, and discharged one of them in a bathroom. No injuries were reported, and "the guns were not used to threaten anyone," according to the school district. School staff heard the gunshot and went into the bathroom, where they found a shell casing. The school was then placed on lockdown as a precaution. Two arrests have been made and the guns were recovered by police. The district released a statement about the guns found at the school: "At City Schools, safety is our top priority, and we work daily to provide a positive environment for teaching and learning. Staff and students experiencing anxiety as a result of today’s incident will receive support from the school-based team and mental health professionals for as long as necessary." |
