Under Trump, US admits fewest refugees since 1980, leaving thousands stranded
2018-10-08
[IsraelTimes] Death threats drove Hadi Mohammed out of Iraq and to a small apartment in Nebraska, where he and his two young sons managed to settle as refugees. But the danger hasn’t been enough to allow his wife to join them.

Mohammed, who worked as a security guard for the US military in Baghdad, says he was initially told his wife would be reunited with him and the boys within a month. The wait has now dragged on for more than a year as she goes through stricter screening imposed by the Trump administration.

Tens of thousands of people are experiencing similar anguished waits as the number of refugees entering the US falls to historic lows because of tighter scrutiny that administration officials say is necessary for security. Critics say it amounts to an abandonment of the country’s historic humanitarian role and discriminates against certain groups, particularly Moslems.

Perhaps she's not passing the background check, hmmm?

Yes, whatever happened to the old bring-and-buy charity events ?

#4  Why not put refugees nearer to the country they left so they can return more easily!

America is not near any of those...

#3  Under Trump, US admits fewest refugees since 1980, leaving thousands stranded

Let me try my hand at re-framing that title. I would say something more like this:

Under 0bumhole, US Admits So Many Fake Refugees That Now We Can't Accept Those Who Truly Need Help And Would Appreciate It.

#2  Let's see if we can make that a negative number. Send the refugees back home!

Yep - a real bummer...
