No news on whether his Secret Security detail will be buried with him to serve him through the afterlife.

#11  When Soetoro passes I recommend the Interstate Highway System be closed, prohibition be re-enacted, and electricity be turned off for at least a year.

The Great Pyramid of Obama is gonna be lit.

Literally and figuratively.

And the deplorables will required to make bricks without straw.

#10  Thank you, Alaska Paul. President George W. Bush proclaimed a national day of mourning for Ronald Reagan’s funeral, also shutting down all non-essential areas of the government. So that is the tradition. link.

#9  My dad was really angry when Pres Kennedy had a day of mourning for the funeral. "What am I to do, sit around and mourn?" He was 1st MarDiv, fought at Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa. Different outlook.

#5  most of the federal govt closed including not only the USPS but also federal courts, passport office and other activities where the work will have to be made up

estimates of the added cost to the federal govt range from $50M to $500M and the cost to the general economy is probably in that range also

#4  And it's substantially less of a hit to American productivity than the unveiling of Bath House Brackets or March Madness itself...

#3  Really, I think no junk mail for one day is not a bad thing. But that just means twice as much tomorrow. Shoot...

#2  Half measures! When Soetoro passes I recommend the Interstate Highway System be closed, prohibition be re-enacted, and electricity be turned off for at least a year.
