Mexico Has a Plan to Deter Illegal Aliens From Flocking to the United States. Here's What It Entails. |
2018-12-18 |
[Townhall] Over the next five years, the Mexican government plans to spend $30 billion on Central American development. Their goal is simple: to keep illegal aliens from heading north towards the United States border, USA Today reported. According to Mexican Foreign Ministry Marcelo Ebrard, Mexico "will change its migration policies to respond to the needs required in the south of our country and Central America," although it's unclear exactly how those funds will be spent. "We’re going to guarantee that the rights of migrants in our territory are respected," Newly-elected Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrado told reporters on Dec. 5. "About how to resolve the problem, we’re putting together a proposal to invest in productive projects and job creation. And, not only that, in work visas as well for Mexican and for the United States." |

#9 Don't invest in Central America, change Mexican law to allow for proper investment and create a safe and stable business environment in Southern Mexico. If the jobs are in Southern Mexico you get the tax revenue and the central Americans don't have to go so far. |

#7 "1 unfortunately most foreign aid to Central America typically is stolen or wasted -- somehow AMLO doesn't understand that" I disagree. I'll bet he understands that very well and bribes to the right people will be more effective than building kumbaya campfires. |

#6 ...don't forget the Left's other canard of multiculturalism which means the immigrants don't learn the common language* and thus get stuck in low level menial jobs with greatly reduced chances for economic advancement (outside welfare support). Keep them poor, keep them dependent. * not just of America, but of medicine, technology, aviation, science, et al. |

#5 eliminate immigration of those below average wages More importantly, it's time to call out the left on their hypocrisy re education. Education spending via taxation is a sacred cow, but letting in unskilled (often illiterate) migrants is also a sacred cow. WTF? |

#4 Foreign aid is a failed model, but don't tell that to the State Department crowd... |

#3 How soon would that pay for the wall? America, and the west, urgently needs to eliminate immigration of those below average wages. |

#1 unfortunately most foreign aid to Central America typically is stolen or wasted -- somehow AMLO doesn't understand that ironically, the most efficient foreign aid is remittances sent by immigrants (legal and illegal) living in the US to their families |
