POTUS Threatens to Close Southern Border if Dems Fail to Fund Border Security

[Breitbart] President Donald Trump threatened to close the Southern border on Friday if Democrats continued blocking funding for border security.

"We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall & also change the ridiculous immigration laws that our Country is saddled with," Trump wrote on Twitter.

The president commented on the ongoing funding stalemate as the partial government shutdown continued into the seventh day.

Trump added that he was willing to freeze economic activity between the Southern border and even end trade with Mexico.

"Go back to pre-NAFTA, before so many of our companies and jobs were so foolishly sent to Mexico," he wrote. "Either we build (finish) the Wall or we close the Border."

The shutdown is expected to continue into January after Congressional Democrats refused to fund border security in the new government funding bill.

Trump accused Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador of "doing nothing" to help keep their people from traveling to America despite receiving millions of dollars in aid from the United States.

"Word is that a new Caravan is forming in Honduras and they are doing nothing about it," he wrote. "We will be cutting off all aid to these 3 countries ‐ taking advantage of U.S. for years!"

So do American car manufacturers, and Japanese. So it would be a good idea for them to start pressing their Congressional representatives to find a compromise with the president.

And yes, the caravans are an act of war. Civil war, to be precise, but the home countries are not acting to prevent this act of war committed on their behalf.

#14  Btw most of the German cars built in Mexico are not sold in Mexico but exported. And many German cars built in the U.S. are exported, too.

Don't you understand how the car industry works? The German factories in the U.S. use some vital parts manufactured in Mexico (or Germany). Any problems with the supply chain can be fatal.

Germany actually wants to build MORE car factories in the U.S., increase production, hire more U.S. workers.

If the supply chain can't be guaranteed this won't happen.

If we don't secure the border it's only a matter of time before German car factories replace American workers with Mexicans. This shit only gets worse the longer we delay putting a stop to it. Move those factories to Mexico if you want and try to sell your cars there. We'll call that bluff.

President Trump is finding all sorts of reasons to stop payments all over the place. A closed wallet can be awfully clarifying of national priorities. Friends, after all, don’t send their underclass to pick their friend’s pockets.
