With al-Shafah fully under their control, the Syrian Democratic Forces will now push to enter the last Islamic State stronghold, al-Sousah, which has been the target of several Iraqi air strikes. Denying a previous report by state-owned Syria TV, the YPG said that the two British soldiers were badly maimed when the Islamic State terror organization fired an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) towards the advancing Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in al-Shafah. At least one fighter from the Syrian Democratic Forces is believed to have been killed as a result of this Islamic State attack. Earlier today, Syria TV reported two British soldiers with the Anti-ISIS Coalition were killed when a missile hit their positions in the town of al-Shafah. The Syrian Democratic Forces are currently in control of more than 75 percent of al-Shafah at this time, leaving only the southern part of the town still under the Islamic State’s influence.
