2019-02-03
Lots of bad guy coordination and weapons smuggling from Libya along that border, while the Egyptian army has hunted on both sides of the border with self-proclaimed Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar‘s permission. Lots of possibilities for the identity of this particular lot of dangerous terrorists including, but not limited to groups associated with ISIS, al-Qaeda and Moslem Brüderbund.
[AlAhram] Egypt's military killed eight "extremely dangerous" bandidos bandidos bully boys in the country's Western Desert, according to a Saturday statement by military front man Tamer El-Refai.

"In continuation of the efforts of the armed forces and the civilian police in combating terrorist and criminal elements in all strategic directions...after locating their exact location, the air force targeted the terrorists’ spot," the statement read.

The military spokesperson said that the information was based on reliable intelligence in cooperation with the national security sector.

The terrorist cell was planning to carry hostile acts aimed at destabilising the country, according to the statement.

The operation resulted in the destruction of a 3-wheel-drive truck with quantities of weapons and ammunition.

The armed forces and civilian police continue their efforts in pursuing terrorist and criminal elements to safeguard the security and stability of the country.

The military has been carrying out Operation Sinai 2018, a counter-terrorism campaign since February 2018. It involves land, naval and air forces, as well as the police and border guards.

It targets "terrorist and criminal elements and organizations" and is focused on northern and central Sinai, as well as parts of the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.
