Russian strikes collapse jihadist lines in northwestern Hama
2019-05-10
[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
were expected to fiercely resist the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops that were attempting to advance in northwestern Hama; however, the snuffies haven’t had much of an opportunity to engage in long battles with the government forces, thanks in large part to the Russian Arclight airstrikes that have relentlessly hit their positions.

According to a military source in the town of Mhardeh, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham snuffies are struggling to resupply and reinforce their lines in northwestern Hama because the Russian airstrikes have repeatedly struck all of their convoys.

Prior to the short battle at Qal’at al-Madiq, the Russian airstrikes had battered the jihadist defenses so badly that many chose to withdraw from the historical before the Syrian Arab Army and their allies began their new attack to capture the area.

The Russian airstrikes are still ongoing across northwestern Syria this evening, with a high concentration of these attacks focused on the jihadist-held areas in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate.

The Russian airstrikes on northeastern Latakia are meant to weaken the jihadist defenses at the key town of Kabani, which sits atop of the al-Zuwayqat Mountains.

The Syrian Arab Army is expected to storm Kabani in the coming days as they look to eliminate the last jihadists in the northeastern Latakia
