According to informed military sources, eight improvised bombs and some weapons were also destroyed during the same operations.

"In a raid by Afghan special forces in Kandahar, 8 IEDs and weapons were destroyed," the sources said.

The sources also added that an Arclight airstrike in Andar district of Ghazni resulted in 2 Taliban fighters killed.

The anti-government armed holy warriors including Taliban have not commented regarding the operations so far.
