Diyala (IraqiNews) al-Hash al-Shaabi (paramilitary militia) announced, on Saturday, thwarting an attack launched by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... group, northeast of Diyala. Al-Hashd al-Shaabi said in a statement that security forces from the 110th brigade, managed to foil an attack launched by the Islamic State terrorist group on the security checkpoints, near al-Saadiyah area, northeast of Diyala Province. The Islamic State group is trying to cause any security preach in Diyala Province; however, all its attempts failed, the statement added. Al-Hashd al-Shaabi is a paramilitary militia and an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of some 40 militias that are mostly Shia Moslem groups, but also including Sunni Moslem, Christian, and Yazidi individuals as well. |
