Deputy foreign minister confirms: Israel to ban Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar
2019-08-16
[Jpost] Israel will not allow US Congresswomen Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
(D-Minnesota) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) into the country because of their vocal BDS advocacy, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

Netanyahu issued a statement saying that no country in the world respects the US Congress more than Israel, but that Isaeli law prohibits entry to those calling for a boycott of the country. He said that other countries as well ‐ including the US ‐ bar entry to those who are perceived to want to harm them.

He said that Israel is a "vibrant and free democracy" that is open to all criticism, with the exception of a call for boycotts.

"Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar are leading activists in promoting boycott legislation against Israel in the US Congress," Netanyahu said.

He said that Israel received their itinerary only a few days ago, and it became clear that they were "planning a campaign whose sole purpose was to strengthen the boycott and to undermine Israel's legitimacy."

He pointed out that they referred to the visit as a visit to "Paleostine," and not to Israel, and ‐ as opposed to all other Democratic and Republican representatives in the past ‐ did not request any meeting with official Israeli representatives, either from the government or the opposition.

Netanyahu said that the NGO that is sponsoring the trip ‐ Miftah ‐ is a fervent advocate of BDS and includes members who have supported terrorism against Israel.

The prime minister said that the decision to bar entry was made by Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, and that he supports the decision.

Israel has been banning politicians for years — just not Americans

[IsraelTimes] Lawmakers from Spain to Ghana have been kept out by Israeli authorities in recent years, though few garner any major outcry, probably because the EU bans people all the time too.

#7  tw nails it.

By now we're all hip to the shtick of these repulsive little drama queens.

Everything is a stunt designed to unleash a Twitterstorm.

They have more in common with performance artists than congressmen.

#6  The Times of Israel expands on Frank G’s statement:

After Israel allows West Bank visit to grandmother, Tlaib says she’s not going

Legislator cites ‘humiliating’ terms for family trip, which she’d requested after being denied formal visit with Omar; she’d been blasted by Palestinians for ‘surrender’ to Israel

The whole thing is nonsense anyway. If they wanted anything other than a propaganda opportunity, they would have come a few days earlier with the official bipartisan Congressional delegation — 41 Democrats and 31 Republicans.

#4  Shudda let 'em come in, and have a Hamas false flag thingy take 'em out together. Then 'unearth' a conspiracy to break US-Israel relations by the two darlings.

#2  Train is being granted entrance to visit relatives, promises no incitement. Of course, she's a POS liar, so.....

#1  Let them in ... and give them a good horsewhipping.
Then send Tlaib back to Detroit, and Omar to Mogadishu.
