| #4 Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas back in the 90's and shut down the DC-X program because it couldn't possibly work. Of course, that's the operational model, suitably modified, SpaceX is using with the Falcon 9 first stage... If they wanted to beat SpaceX they could have done it back in 1997. _They didn't want to_. Now they want to? Really? |

| #1 how they will win by buying Congress It is probably their best strategy. At this point, I would not expect innovative space engineering from Boeing. Hell, they're having trouble making airplanes. |
