Arizona AG Brnovich issues legal opinion declaring border crisis 'invasion' under Constitution
2022-02-08
[FoxNews] Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich says state authorized 'to defend itself' under governor’s 'authority as Commander-in-Chief'.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich on Monday issued a legal opinion that determines that the ongoing crisis at the southern border is an "invasion" under the Constitution – a move he says gives the state the power to take additional measures to defend itself.

In the opinion, Brnovich says that the definition of "invasion" contained under the U.S. Constitution is not limited to hostile foreign states, and can include "hostile non-state actors."

#14  Mark Brnovich is running for Senate. This is Repub positioning for votes. Question is, will he talk the talk or walk the walk?

#13   Events across the southern border certainly look like an invasion to me.
--- The federal government, by its Constitution, is also obligated to guarantee to every state a republican form of government, NOT a democracy -- that word is nowhere to be found in the Constitution. The feds quit doing that part a very long time ago.

#10  You can always play the collected speeches of 'President' Joe Biden at full volume

The confusion will have them turned around and heading back to Mexico in no time.

#9  There is a range of sonic non-lethals that are perfect for this problem. I even recall a range of non-lethals that use microwave level devices to create a feeling of heat on exposed tissue at a distance. What is missing is the will to defend us!

#4  He isn't wrong. The governor has the authority to call up the national guard for his state and even the unorganized militia if he wants. Emergency funds can be gotten to secure the border with Mexico and they can arrest illegals and keep them in camps if he wishes, all while telling the Feds to pound sand.

#1  DC seems to be more interested in protecting European citizens and their borders, than protecting USA & US citizens.
