#9 Either a MANPAD hitting perfectly in a fuel line and the ripping apart of the engine from damaged parts and torque, or that was a weapon like the Javelin in direct mode to get helicopters. Either way, nice shot. That Hind would have been in deep trouble no matter what altitude it was at. |

#8 Like that guy from Spinal Tap said, it's a fine line between NOE and DOA. |

#5 Smoke trail shows the missile was adjusting it's course. Way it hit was bigger than a MANPAD. |

#4 If AT weapon, the gunner gets the Schützenschnur. Agreed. Although these guys might be bird hunters, leading the fowl for the shot....albeit at a greater distance. Same principal. |

#3 Certainly could be. I've not kept up with Manpad R&D, but I'm not sure if it had enough launch time to arm. If AT weapon, the gunner gets the Schützenschnur. |

#2 Nap of the Earth? Bad Russian translation of "dirt nap?" |

#1 Looks like an AT weapon rather than AD. |
