| Bodies of Russian Soldiers Filling Up Belarusian Morgues, Residents Say |

| [Radio Free Europe] The bodies of Russian soldiers killed in battle in Ukraine are filling up morgues in Belarus, local residents told RFE/RL. Russian soldiers killed in battle are being brought by truck to the morgues and then sent back to Russia by train or plane, residents said. Residents described the horror of seeing the bodies loaded on a train at Mazyr for transfer back to Russia. "The number of bodies was unbelievably large. People at the Mazyr station were simply shocked by the number of bodies being put on the train," a local resident in Mazyr told RFE/RL. The morgues in Homel and Naroulia are also filled up, according to local residents. Belarusian doctors have been threatened with the loss of their job if they are caught spreading information about the dead and injured Russian soldiers. U.S. officials have estimated that several thousand Russian soldiers have been killed so far in the two-week old war. |

| #6 This is all rubbish. I have read reports of thousands of Afghans being killed everyday by Ashraf Ghani's great army until the day the islamic emirate was established. The best part about radio is you can't show pictures. |

| #4 If things were really grim, they would be eating the bodies which would not be accumulating. I would expect most city morgues to have "weekend in Chicago" capacity. Unsurprising an actual war would overload them. |

| #3 Also, most of the Russian casualties seem to be from destroyed armor. In that case dead:wounded can be 1:2 or less. |

| #2 At first I believed that it was 12K all casualties but US intel had estimated 3500-6000 Russian dead. Ukrainians admitted 1,300 military dead and thousands more civilians killed by shelling. From March 10: Up to 6,000 Russians may have been killed in Ukraine so far, U.S. official estimates |

| #1 Uh huh.... I believe the 10-12K casualties as usually 20% of that number is KIA and the rest wounded, missing or deserted with the killed being around 2,000+ so I doubt this story of "morgues" filling up unless it is the only Morgue in Ukraine. The 10,000 dead seems propaganda. But, the Russians have been taking fairly heavy casualties and losses that would send the US public into a hysterical fit over. |
