Six members of the government forces were killed on Saturday in an attack by ISIS members on their car on the outskirts of al-Shola town, south of Deir ez-Zor, east of Syria.
The 17th division had lost contact with a group of six members at dawn on Saturday, a military source in the government forces’ 17th Division told North Press
Hours after losing contact, the six members were found dead with several gunshot wounds on the outskirts of al-Shola, according to the source.
Shepherds, who were close to the incident, confirmed that the government forces’ members were killed in a clash with members of ISIS on cycle of violence
s and were raising the flag of the organization. After the attack, they took the weapons and fled towards the depths of the desert, the source added.The Syrian Badia region constitutes a source of concern for the pro-Iranian militias and the government forces, as it witnesses intensive operations of ISIS cells.
On April 11, four members of the pro-Iranian militias were killed in a missile attack on their point east of Homs.
