  • The dismissal follows a string of firings within only a span of six days

  • Capt. Jeffry Sandin, officer of the Navy's Recruit Training Command, was dismissed on June 11 'due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command'

  • On June 10, USS Bulkeley destroyer commanding officers Cmdr. Devine Johnson and Command Master Chief Earl Sanders were fired

  • They were both relieved of their duties 'due to a loss of confidence in their ability to effectively function as a command leadership team'

  • Cmdr. Matthew McCormick, head of Electronic Attack Squadron, was fired on June 8 'due to loss of confidence in his ability to command'

  • The Navy did not provide additional details as to why the officers were fired

#11  Out of port is what I heard.

Gateway Pundit but that's all I found about it - as always rumor is not fact so salt accordingly.

#10  Roghly speaking it takes about 42 gallons of crude (about one barrel) to make 20 gallons of gas. Again, roughly speaking. Other stuff is produced from that same oil as it is refined. I don't see any huge profit margins, if you take into account the refining and transport costs. As you might expect, the gov't is the biggest benefactor of the oil industry, from the initial lease, to wellhead to pump. The gov't has it nailed.

#2  ..could be. Though the services as a whole have a earned reputation to wait too long to relieve officers. There was a IG of the Army report after Desert Shield/Storm on the number of senior officers (field grade +) relieved. Didn't get too much circulation.
