Palestinian teen shot dead by Israeli troops during alleged stone-throwing attack
2022-12-09
[IsraelTimes] PA Health Ministry says four others maimed in incident near village of Aboud; Diaa al-Rimawi, 16, is fifth Paleostinian fatality by Israeli fire within a day

A Paleostinian teenager who allegedly hurled stones at passing Israeli motorists in the central West Bank was rubbed out by Israeli troops on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The fatality marked the fifth Paleostinian killed by Israeli forces in raids or attacks in the previous 24 hours, adding to a corpse count that has risen significantly during a months-long anti-terror offensive in the West Bank.

The Israel Defense Forces said several suspects had been hurling rocks and containers of paint at Israeli cars driving on Route 465 near the village of Aboud, northwest of Ramallah.

"IDF soldiers conducting routine activity in the area... shot at the suspects," the military said, adding that "targets were hit."

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said 16-year-old Diaa Muhammad Shafiq al-Rimawi was killed. His body was taken by the Israeli army, it said.

The ministry said a second Paleostinian was seriously hurt in the incident and taken by Israeli soldiers to a hospital in Israel, while another three were in stable, pH balanced condition at a hospital in Ramallah.

A military official confirmed that the suspect’s body was being held by Israel and that a second person had been transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The IDF said the suspects "endangered the lives of passersby." There were no immediate reports of Israelis hurt, or cars damaged, in stone-throwing incidents in the area.

The incident came hours after Israeli troops killed three button men during an early Thursday morning raid in the city of Jenin.

On Wednesday afternoon, a gunman who opened fire on a military post in the central West Bank was also shot and killed.

#6  Very probably I am the only one here who didn’t immediately recognize the term, Frank G. I grew up with a dearth of useful Anglo-Saxonisms, as both my parents learnt English as adults... and British English before the American version. When Mama first went to work at the VA hospital as an occupational therapist, her husband wrote out a vocabulary list for her with the medical Latin translations, but that list was mever shared with me. So I continue learning, one word or phrase at a time.

#5  Bad's got it - I thought it was previously used/explained, TW. ;-)

It applies all the time, shorthand for "Actions have consequences"

#4  What a long way to say consequences. Pungent and emotionally satisfying, though. Thank you for translating, badanov — my vocabulary has grown in all sorts of interesting directions since I found the Burg.
