SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — The Georgia Ports Authority announced that the East Coast's largest ship-to-shore cranes will arrive in Savannah Thursday afternoon.

Port officials said that four massive ship-to-shore cranes will arrive in the Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal on the vessel Biglift Baffin.
There is NO Garden in Garden City, I lived on Wilmington Island for 8 years.
The cranes are expected to pass in front of downtown Savannah at around 3:30 p.m., and the large vessel will pass under the Talmadge Bridge somewhere between 3:45 and 4:15 p.m. They are expected to reach their destination at 5 p.m.

They are expected to reach their destination at 5 p.m.

The Coast Guard will enforce a temporary safety zone in the Savannah River due to the cranes' arrival on Thursday.

From 12:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., no vessels will be permitted to enter into, transit through, moor, or anchor within 1,500 feet of the Biglift Baffin.

The ship is carrying a Georgia Bulldogs flag to honor the back-to-back champions.

#5  Abrams are shipped by Ro/Ro (roll on/ roll off).
i.e. the ship drops a ramp and they are driven on. Helps when the delivery offload doesn't have big cranes available.
FWIW Sealift Command keeps (at least used to) a Ro/ro stocked with Abrams and Bradleys parked at Diego Garcia.

#4  Curious coincidence.

The cranes measure more than 306 feet (93 meters) tall and can lift 72.8 tons (66 metric tonnes)

The M1 Abrams one of the heaviest tanks in service at nearly 68 short tons (62 metric tons)
