NATO websites, including the Internet resource of the Alliance's Special Operations Forces Headquarters, were subjected to a hacker cyberattack. This was reported on February 12 by the German agency DPA, citing a spokesman for the military alliance.
“NATO websites on Sunday became the target of a hacker attack,” the report said.
It is specified that the incident affected the functioning of several NATO websites. Alliance experts in the field of cybersecurity are actively investigating what happened.
It is noted that NATO constantly faces cyber threats and takes the issue of ensuring security in cyberspace seriously.
DPA points out that information has allegedly appeared on social networks that some “pro-Russian activists” attacked the website of the NATO Special Operations Forces Headquarters. This was blamed on the hacker group KILLNET. No evidence was presented for this.
