Systemic Racism Makes Animals Abandon Black Neighborhoods, Researchers Say |
2023-02-13 |
[ZERO] White neighborhoods have greater abundance and diversity of animal life, and Canadian researchers say racism is to blame. "Systemic racism alters the demography of urban wildlife populations in ways that generally limit population sizes and negatively affect their chances of persistence," write the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg's Chloé Schmidt and Colin J. Garroway in a study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. In a study that examined 39 terrestrial vertebrate species in 268 urban locations across the United States, the researchers found "generally consistent patterns of reduced genetic diversity and decreased connectivity in neighborhoods with fewer White residents." BLUF: In search of a solution, some liberals may reflexively look to busing the animals. Schmidt and Garroway, however, call for "equitably distributing and increasing the amount and connectivity of natural habitat in cities." |

#9 some liberals may reflexively look to busing the animals. What if the animals hate your diversity and run off again to safe white neighborhoods? |

#7 I'm supposed to feel guilty about living in a nice neighborhood? Leave it to the woke to feel guilty. I'm glad to be here and will not apologize for it. |

#6 Are roaches endemic to systemic racism? And do roaches count in animal diversity? |

#5 In search of a solution, some liberals may reflexively look to busing the animals. That didn't quite work out in Southie in the '70's, did it? |

#4 If you have open hunting season all year long even the 'wildlife' knows its time to move on. |
