On Thursday, Trump’s communications aide Margo Martin, who worked in the White House and then moved with Trump to Florida, appeared before the grand jury in Washington, DC. One of special counsel Jack Smith’s senior-most prosecutors was involved in the interview.

Martin, who is among a small group of former White House advisers who have remained employed by Trump after he left office, declined to answer any questions when approached by a CNN news hound.

Many of the Mar-a-Lago staffers are being represented by counsel paid for by Trump entities, according to sources and federal elections records.

Smith continues to pursue Trump defense lawyer Evan Corcoran. In an earlier appearance before the grand jury, Corcoran declined to answer questions about his conversations with Trump related to the classified documents, citing attorney-client privilege. A ruling is expected from the DC District Court on Corcoran as early as this week.

#4  Since the 2016 election, maybe even before then, they've been doing their damnedest to find something, anything, that will stick to Donald Trump. That's seven years now. How many politicians from either party could stand up to that kind of scrutiny? And they still don't have jack squat. But, no. They'll never quit. It must be hell to live with the kind of fear that drives them to such desperate measures.

#2  The Trumps treat their staff with a lot of respect. They are uniformly loyal. The precedent has been set. I wonder who in Washington mistreats their staff.
