Terrorists from the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) tried to break into the territory controlled by government troops in the province of Aleppo. This was announced on March 24 at a briefing by the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov.
“In the area of the settlement of Urum es-Sughra in the province of Aleppo, militants of the Hayat Tahrir ash-Sham terrorist group (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) attempted to break into the territory controlled by the Syrian government forces,” Gurinov said .
As Gurinov clarified, one Syrian military was killed and six wounded in repulsing the militant attack. Government troops eliminated nine militants. According to Gurinov, no terrorist attacks were recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone for 24 hours.
