On Friday, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems...
(ISIS) grabbed credit for an attack on an outpost of the Iraqi army in eastern al-Anbar, western Iraq.

The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said the group’s turbans attacked with two mortars a military outpost of the Iraqi army on a highway east of Rutbah in eastern al-Anbar.

The attack resulted in material damages, whereas no casualties or injuries have been confirmed, the agency added.

Recently, ISIS has intensified its attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria and the Iraqi army in Iraq.

On Friday, al-Naba online ISIS-linked newspaper released results of the group’s operations during the past week, it conducted 22 operations, including five operations in Syria and five in Iraq, in which 76 people were killed and maimed.
