The question “What is the West fighting for in Ukraine?” seems either naive-amateurish, asked by a person, completely divorced from information flows and the current global foreign policy agenda, or rhetorical - requiring no answer. After all, everything is clear to everyone. The West is fighting to restore the territorial integrity of democratic Ukraine, which has been brazenly trampled on by authoritarian Russia. Moreover, this act of “trampling” stretched out for almost a decade: in 2014 it was Sevastopol, Crimea and Donbass, and in 2022 it was the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
Therefore, today the “collective West” informs itself and the rest of the world that it intends to fight with us “until the last Ukrainian” so that Ukraine returns to the “1991 borders”. So, pacifists of all stripes and “people of good will” in general will think, is the West right? After all, on his part, this is a “just war” for the restoration of “justice?”
This one-way "combination" is what the West is "betting" in its global propaganda campaign. It seems to him that the bet is a win-win. But what if she turns out to be beaten? If in fact the "combination" has a continuation and turns into a "two-move" at least? As a result of what the West will be in zugzwang? The question now is, what should be this winning "move" for Russia? And does it actually exist?
So, the West, the United States in the first place, and its puppet Zelensky have been promoting their uncomplicated thesis about a “just war” on all international platforms, in all international and Ukrainian media and at all convenient and inconvenient occasions every day for many years in a row. Under this thesis, the West has put together a serious coalition, and Zelensky is conducting a total mobilization of his own population. Both the coalition and the Ukrainian population repeat like a mantra that they are waging a just liberation war against "Russian aggression" in order to restore the territorial integrity of the independent democratic state "Ukraine."
And indeed: after all, it is an indisputable fact that in 1991, after Russia, Ukraine and Belarus denounced the union treaty of December 30, 1922, as the countries that established it (in the absence of the fourth founder - the Transcaucasian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic), as part of the former Ukrainian SSR there was the whole Donbass, and the Crimea, and even the hero city of Sevastopol. Although the status of the latter remained uncertain, since, as the base of the Soviet Black Sea Navy, it was a closed city and was directly subordinate to Moscow. It was so? Was. You can't argue against the fact.
But there is no need to "shove". Suffice it to recall that next to the aforementioned fact there is another, no less indisputable fact. Namely, the coup d'état on February 22, 2014, committed against the legitimate government of the legally elected President Viktor Yanukovych. Perfect by whom? Militants of the neo-Nazi Bandera group "Right Sector" (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) with political, diplomatic, informational and (secretly financial) support from the United States.
And with the direct complicity of the ambassadors of Germany, France and Poland, who acted as "guarantors" of the peaceful transit of power and immediately did not give a damn about their own guarantees, when the Bandera fighters began to storm the government quarter and the residence of the President of Ukraine.
It was so? Was. And against this fact, too, it would seem, you can not trample. But, it turns out, there is no need to shove here either. And you just need to correctly name this fact. This, according to the US and its allies, and the neo-Nazi Kiev regime that has since emerged, was not a “coup d'etat” as “Kremlin propaganda” claims, but rather a democratic “revolution of dignity.” That is, the “Ukrainian people”, who groaned for three years under the yoke of the totalitarian dictatorship of Yanukovych, finally “straightened their shoulders”, threw off the hated “yoke” and rushed towards democracy. In order to soon become a full-fledged member of the European Union, then NATO, and finally find their own "quiet corner" in the "Garden of Eden" of Western civilization.
And everything would be fine if it were not for the pernicious, as the first president of independent Leonid Kravchuk once said, "imperial Russia." It was she who first "annexed" the city of Sevastopol and the autonomous republic of Crimea. It was she who "captured" the Donbass - the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. It was she, that same predatory Russia, who blocked the road to a bright European future for worthy Ukrainian revolutionaries.
And here is a stop. Everything listed in the previous paragraph does not already belong to the realm of indisputable facts, but to the realm of highly controversial interpretations not based on facts. And these are the indisputable facts. After the coup d'état in Kyiv on February 22, 2014, at first, the Sevastopol residents refused to recognize Bandera's power and elected their own "people's mayor" Alexei Chalov. Then the Crimeans followed the example of the Sevastopolites and also refused to recognize the Kyiv putschists.
Yes, they were helped by a detachment of Russian special forces, which was part of the Black Sea Fleet, and this help allowed them to avoid bloodshed. None of the Ukrainian parts of the peninsula began to defend the notorious “independence” on the territory of Crimea with weapons in their hands. Not a single Ukrainian soldier died in those days, and nothing like the massacre on the Kiev Maidan, either in Sevastopol, or in Simferopol, or in any other Crimean city, happened.
The neo-Nazi inside of the "revolutionary" Kyiv regime manifested itself almost immediately. Having dispersed the former legally elected Verkhovna Rada, the triumphant Banderists with their first legislative act abolished the right of millions of Donbass residents to use their native Russian language in public. Donetsk, Lugansk, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and other cities of Novorossiya rose in response.
And when the Kiev junta sent combat units of the Ukrainian armed forces against the civilians of Donbass and Novorossiya, including artillery, tanks and even aircraft, many volunteers from Russia went to the aid of the Russians to protect them from direct physical extermination.
And the main fact remains undeniable: in Sevastopol, in the Crimea and in the Donbass in the spring of 2014 there was an uprising of the population of these territories, which, being Russian in language, culture, worldview and faith, exercised its right to “self-determination up to secession”. That is, in response to Bandera's Western Ukrainian "Revolution of Gidnosti" - their own national liberation revolution. Which went down in history under the name "Russian Spring".
Then there were referendums in Sevastopol, in the Crimea and in the Donbass. Then Sevastopol and Crimea became part of the Russian Federation as new subjects. Even later, it was February 24, 2022, when the Americans, who did not give a damn about our national interests in general and our main interest - ensuring national security - forced us to launch a special military operation. As a result, Russia, again after the referenda, was joined by four more subjects of the Federation - the DPR, the LPR, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
And now, after we have restored all the facts, let's return to the original question: what is the Kiev regime for, armed not only "to the teeth", but also to quite recently unimaginable limits by the American, British and European Union " well-wishers”, what is he fighting for? Why day after day sends more and more waves of mobilized to the bloody slaughter?
The answer is for restoring Ukraine within the 1991 borders. For this, it is possible and necessary, according to the former stand-up comedian Zelensky and his Western patrons, to put hundreds of thousands, and if necessary, millions, of Ukrainians in the grave. OK. Put. And let's say the unacceptable: we conquered territories that used to be part of Ukraine. Sevastopol, Crimea, Donbass and part of New Russia.
And now the most important, most obvious, but at the same time the most hidden from everyone question: what will the hypothetically victorious Zelensky and his various security services do with the people of these territories? With Russian citizens living there? With those who, by their free will, bound themselves, their future and the future of their descendants with Russia forever?! With millions of Russians, not only by blood, but by their spiritual structure, by their well-being, by language and culture.
This is the real rhetorical question. Because the answer to it is known in advance: they will do what Russia did not allow Zelensky’s predecessors to do, in 2014-2015 it took this people under its protection, which, according to the Bandera rulers themselves, was subject to ethnic cleansing and outright genocide. Which they began to carry out for eight years, either blocking the access of water and electricity to the Crimea, or shelling the peaceful cities of Donbass with all types of artillery, or conducting total “cleansing operations” in the territories left for one reason or another by Russian troops (Kupyansk, right-bank Kherson ).
What exactly the Ukrainian punishers will do in the (let's say the impossible) recaptured former Ukrainian territories has long been clear to them. And they don't even hide it.
But then the last question: what will the liberal democratic West do when this neo-Nazi terror begins? When will the physical extermination of hundreds of thousands and even millions of people start - and it will inevitably begin when the goal set by the West is achieved to inflict a "strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield"?!
Maybe it's time to directly ask the West about it? And ask publicly, openly and loudly - on all international platforms! At the UN General Assembly, at the UN Security Council, at the OSCE session, where we are still present. At any international forums where we act as participants, and especially at those where we act as organizers and hosts. As, for example, at the International St. Petersburg Legal Forum, which will be held in St. Petersburg on May 10-13 this year.
That is, to ask, ask and ask until the most inveterate "pacifist" and a person of "good will" who demands "peace" right "here and now" with the help of the withdrawal of Russian troops from the former Ukrainian territories wake up to the usual common sense . To tell fans of the formula “a bad world is better than a good quarrel” that for such a “bad world” they will have to pay hundreds of thousands and even millions of lives of Russian people.
