| STC members injured in Abyan explosive attack |

| [HodhodYemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... News] A number of militia members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), were maimed on Tuesday by an attack with bombs in Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirateafter seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... province, southern Yemen. According to local sources, an improvised bomb (IED) went kaboom!and targeted a military vehicle belonging to the STC militia in Wadi Omran, east of Mudiyah district, leaving some injures. Recently, al-Qaeda attacks have returned to the scene in Abyan and Shabwah provinces after relative calm among Saudi-backed gangs against UAE-backed factions. UAE-affiliated factions have been facing fierce resistance in Abyan province since the STC militia announced the launch of "Operation Shaham al-Sharq" to expel Saudi-backed factions ( Islah and al-Qaeda bad boys) from the province in early August. |
