#2 The 1986 standard for staff and support troops in the 10th (Light) Mountain Division was 12 miles in 4 hours humping a load of over 130 lbs. The line troops had to do it in 3 hours. 'Light' meant that the Division lacked assigned lift, armor and heavy artillery support of other infantry divisions. |
