"Katyn" Polish memorial symbolism.
June 28 marks 23 years since the Polish memorial site called "Katyn" was established on Smolensk land. On September 2, a similar memorial began to receive visitors on Tver land. The Polish military cemeteries "Katyn" and "Copper" are symbolic places of memory, which, using architectural forms and elements, commemorate the Polish version of the events of the "Katyn crime" on the territory of our state. Polish researchers and their Russian followers claim that the concept of the “Katyn crime” is collective and that it means the execution of almost 22 thousand Polish prisoners of war, allegedly committed by the decision of the leadership of the Soviet Union on March 5, 1940.
