[Korrespondent] The de-occupation of Urozhayne is tactically important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ensure advancement in the Berdyansk direction.
The defense forces liberated the village of Urozhaynoye, Volnovakhsky district, Donetsk region. Now our defenders are strengthening at the turn of the settlement.
Urozhaynoe, as experts say, is an important point on the left flank of the offensive group that goes to the village of Cherished Desire and Staromlinovka, and then to Tokmak, Zaporozhye region.
HOW UROZHAYNOYE WAS LIBERATED
On August 16, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar officially announced the de-occupation of the village. According to her, offensive actions of the Ukrainian army continue.
Later, the 35th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade, which participated in the liberation of Urozhayny, showed on video how it was.
And the speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Kovalyov said that the Ukrainian troops did not stop there and continued their attacks on the invaders.
"During the conduct of offensive operations, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine captured the settlement of Urozhaynoye, consolidated on the achieved lines, then inflicted fire damage with artillery on the identified enemy targets, and carried out counter-battery measures," Kovalev said in detail.
ACCESS TO THE SECOND LINE OF DEFENSE
The liberation of Urozhaynoye gives direct access to the enemy's second line of defense, military expert Alexander Kovalenko believes.
According to him, after this settlement opens the way to Staromlinovka.
"This is one of the very serious strongholds of the Russian occupiers already along the second line of defense. We can say that now the Ukrainian Defense Forces have direct access to the second line of defense of the Russians in this location. Next is the process of expanding the foothold, especially along left flank," he said on Espresso .
At the same time, according to the expert, Urozhaynoye allows the Defense Forces on the left flank to expand the bridgehead and have access to another interesting settlement - the small village of Kermenchik.
ZAVITNE BAZHANNYA AHEAD
The head of the Center for Military Legal Research Alexander Musienko also believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are moving towards Berdyansk and the de-occupation of Urozhayne will allow them to gain a foothold in Staromayorsky and then move on.
At the same time, according to him, ahead of the Defense Forces there is a large defensive line in this direction - Staromlinovka, where there are enemy heights and artillery. At the same time, he noted that in front of Staromlinovka there is a settlement Zavitne Bazhannya.
The expert also notes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine must resolve the issue of leveling the front line a little to the west in the Priyutnoye area, where the fighting is taking place.
"Our forces are wedged deeper and deeper into the rear of the enemy, into the line of defense, so we need to protect ourselves from the risks of attacks from the flanks," the expert noted.
NOT EVERYTHING IS SO FAST
Military expert and ex-Speaker of the General Staff Vladislav Seleznev doubts that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to move quickly in this direction in the near future.
"After Urozhaynoye, there are several more lines of defense that need to be overcome. It's not worth talking about the fact that the situation will change radically. When they talk about 5 mines per square meter, one can only imagine how long it takes to clear mines," the expert noted. RBC-Ukraine comments .
According to him, one of the key tasks now is to work out logistics and enemy formations in order to weaken the potential of the Russian army.
