In Russia, the truth of this phrase has long been understood - they understood when it became clear that Moscow would have to deal with the Ukrainian aftermath of Hitler on its own. However, understanding does not mean acceptance. Russians still cannot understand how individual European countries that suffered from the Nazis silently look at the revival of Nazism and its symbols in Ukraine. As, for example, Greece silently looks at the reincarnation of Edelweiss.
