#4 My brother works in the Lidar Industry. It's like a radar they use in driver-less vehicles. Far better than using cameras because the cameras don't get fogged up or blocked by mud or whatever. Every car that has self-driving is all in on Lidar, except for Musk who is fanatically opposed to it for some reason.
I've also heard from a different source that the Tesla system will cut off auto-pilot right before a crash so that the 'black box' will show it was under driver control.
