WH press sec calls House investigation into Biden corruption 'baseless smear campaign'
2023-11-09
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Addressing the news that the House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Biden family members and an associate, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre
The Talking Mop
called the investigation into Biden family overseas dealings a "baseless smear campaign."

Noting that the news was just breaking and referring news hounds to the Oversight representatives, Jean-Pierre said, "I will have to say something that I've said many times. This is an investigation that has been going on for a year now and has turned up zero evidence of wrongdoing by the president, because there is none."

"But Republicans continue to double down on a baseless, baseless smear campaign against the president and his family, instead of being focused on the American people's needs, what they're asking for, what is it that they really truly want us to focus on."

"They continue to double down on this, and there are a lot of important issues that we need to deal with, not just us here in the White House, but also Congress: national security, the economy, health care, gun violence, that's what we should be focusing on, but they continue to try to smear this President and his family on a baseless, baseless investigation."

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Biden family associate Rob Walker on Wednesday afternoon.

The House Oversight Committee chairman has also requested additional Biden family members and their associates to appear for transcribed interviews including Sara Biden, Hallie Biden, Elizabeth Secundy, Melissa Cohen, and Tony Bobulinski.

Hunter Biden is ordered to appear before Congress on Dec. 13, James Biden on Dec. 6, and Rob Walker on Nov. 29.

#3  No style at all! If the talking mop had called it a "...babbling barrage of barratry" then that would have been something!
